Who We Are

At Tatago, we carry a simple yet powerful mission: to nurture the emotional and social wellbeing of children and families in underprivileged communities across the United States and China. Tatago is a nonprofit organization founded by two UC Davis undergraduates, Leyao Xing and Jiarun Lai, that creates a network of customized resources and innovative programs helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As students passionate about educational equity and emotional development, Leyao and Jiarun recognized the urgent need to bridge gaps in social-emotional and STEM education. With a vision of building meaningful connections between schools, families, and communities, they combined their expertise in psychology, education, and technology to create Tatago—a platform redefining the learning ecosystem.

Our Philosophy

Offline Component: We immerse ourselves in communities through field research and teaching, exploring key issues facing children in different areas and providing targeted solutions.

Online Component: Through our online platform, we share available SEL classroom resources and offer professional support to teachers, helping them prepare lessons efficiently. Simultaneously, we provide students and parents with STEM games relevant to daily life, practical knowledge, scientific principles, and mental health information.

We are committed to creating a community environment filled with positive and healthy energy for children, teachers, and parents. Tatago firmly believes that only through the collaborative efforts of schools, families, and communities can children experience true joy and achievement in their learning and growth.
